Toxin Applications
Botulinum toxin applications are the process of temporarily rendering the muscle dysfunctional. The most applied areas are between the eyebrows, forehead and around the eyes. One of the areas that has been used frequently recently is the treatment of teeth grinding, masseter, that is, the chewing muscle application. Masseter muscle toxin application may cause thinning of the face in suitable patients who do not have teeth grinding problems. Toxin application is also used in the treatment of sweating. When applied to both armpits, sweating is stopped temporarily. In some types of migraine, toxin applications can prevent attacks or reduce their intensity or severity. The process of diluting the toxin in higher amounts and applying it to the upper layer of the skin is called mesobotox. It can be used for wrinkles on the skin.
For toxin application, a local anesthetic cream is applied to the person first and the effect is waited for a while. Then, appropriate amounts of toxin are made with a needle. The effect of the toxin occurs in 1-3 days. It takes 10-14 days to see the full effect. The effect of the toxin lasts for 3-5 months. This period varies from person to person.
